Join us on February 5, 2025 for our Growing Together Lobby Day!  Whether you're a seasoned lobbyist, or this will be your first time at the Capitol, this is an important step in making your voice heard and representing Washingtonians across the state.  The deadline to register is January 22 by 5pm.

More Information and Register: Futurewise: Growing Together Lobby Day

Basic Info:

- We will be hosting in-person lobbying in Olympia, WA, 9:30am-4:30pm (times may vary depending on the meetings scheduled).

- Our "home base" will be at the United Churches of Olympia, just across the street from the Capitol campus and where meetings will be held.

- Attendees will join a kick off in the morning, and will attend lobby meetings throughout the day, or join in campaign actions.

- Lunch will be provided.  We will do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions, but in the event that is not possible, we will offer stipends for lunch.  Menu will be sent out a week in advance.

- We will be coordinating a carpool, but cannot guarantee a seat for everyone.

- On January 29 we will have a mandatory training for all volunteers to learn how to lobby and practice the meetings.

- More details, such as lobby meeting schedules, hour by hour for the day, and carpool plans will be emailed out after registration closes.

Here's the issues we'll be working on (will continue to be updated):

  • Rent stabilization by setting price caps on how much rent can be increased each year.  This will keep rents predictable and allow more people to afford to stay in their homes.

  • Transit-oriented development and allow more homes near transit so we are better connected to work, family, and more and make it easier to get around without a car in cities.

  • Rural housing solutions that support more homes in rural areas, but protect our farms and natural resources like water supplies.

We will have more information with the schedule for the day, updated legislative priorities and more.  Please email Marcella, the State Organizer, with any questions at marcella@futurewise.org
