Alternative to Violence Project is offering FREE workshops for parents of Seattle Public School children

  • Douglas-Truth Library (map)

Alternative to Violence Project is a group of concerned citizens who offer workshops to address root causes of violence and develop skills and practices to build community, develop trust, empathy, communication, and conflict transformation skills. Alternatives to Violence Project offers workshops which build on affirmation, community building, communication, and cooperation; and space to practice these skills with each other in deep as well as fun exercises. These skills set us up to be open to nonviolent, creative conflict resolution. The workshops are facilitated by a team who respond to the group to create a safe and positive space. This allows participants to learn from each other, practice new ways of interacting, emotionally grow, and even begin healing from trauma.

The introductory workshops will be 2 hours in length and offered on 3 occasions. There is no charge for this introductory workshop.:
